DETROIT, MICHIGAN– A bear and dog have been arrested on assault charges stemming from a fight that broke out inside of a local bar during an animal face-off, according to a report from police.
The bear Bernard Black, 10, and the dog Rex Cur, 7, were both arrested and charged with aggravated assault following an incident at the Crow’s Nest Saloon last night.
Police said the two animals were seen arguing after the large black bear called the Doberman Pinscher a weak, prissy Poodle. The snarling canine quickly informed the bellowing bear that he was barking up the wrong tree.
According to witnesses, that’s when the dog attacked the bear by lunging at him and giving him a swipe to the face with his sharp nails. Both animals suffered minor injuries before police quickly arrived and arrested the savage beasts.
When police arrived, the bear was on top of the dog swatting at him with his massive paws, landing only one hit due to being extremely intoxicated and unable to barely stand.
No other injuries were reported other than a cat who bruised his tail when he fell off his stool as soon as the fight broke out. Luckily the frisky feline landed on his feet.
The owner of the bar Charlie Croak, a crow who was the one who called police, told Fox News reporters that these types of incidents are actually rare occurrences.
“I’ve run this nest for many years and fights like these rarely happen,” Croak said as he flapped his wings. “This is only the third time in all these years that I’ve had to caw the police.”
