SUNNYVALE, CALIFORNIA– Interspecies dating sites have been exploding as of late, due to the fact that many animals have been having trouble finding love with their own species and are now looking for love elsewhere.
Many animals cite extinction and short lifespans as the reason why they are being forced to look for something different.
According to the Peeyew Research Center, intermarriages have gone up 10 percent since last year alone. Now, there are 17 million interspecies married animals and the trend of marrying outside ones’ species continues to climb, thanks in part to online dating sites.
Cat and dog dating is the most poplar interspecies trend, followed by bird and squirrel dating. In fact, many animals who were once considered enemies are now trading anger for love.

Unfortunately, not every story has a happy ending. Some animals are using the popularity of interspecies dating to trick other animals into letting their guard down. Last year, a lion was arrested after killing and eating a gazelle that he had met on an interspecies dating site. The lion stated that it was much easier to find his food online and have it delivered to his house than to have to chase it outside in the heat for hours on end.
Authorities are warning animals to use caution when meeting other animals online. For a few extra dollars, many sites are now offering background checks to users to see if their potential mate has a history of killing and eating their species.
As interspecies dating continues to become more prevalent, more animals are starting to erase their prejudices and fears and are becoming more accepting of love without borders.
