DETROIT, MICHIGAN– Detroit police and detectives raided the Beach Cove Apartment complex early Wednesday morning, arresting three seagulls and shutting down their carrion lab.
Police camped out in the Seagull Motel across the street while the birds were under surveillance.
After months of investigation, police and detectives raided the apartment of Sammy Skimmer and confiscated 500 grams of carrion, which is dead animals that the birds use to make the street drug C-Ron. Police also found drug materials, three firearms, numerous lighting instruments, and various animal refuse.
Police also confiscated over 2,000 Hentanyl patches. Hentanyl is a powerful painkiller that is derived from dead hens and goes for almost $100 per patch.
Police found young seagull chicks scavenging around a trashcan inside the apartment looking for food to eat.
Arrested without incident were Sammy Skimmer, 8, Sabine Gully, 6, and Wally Tern, 5, all on distribution of drugs.
Sabine Gully also received a charge for chick endangerment for not teaching her chicks how to properly scavenge for food.
All three gulls were taken to the local jail and booked. A judge has already ordered that all three birds get their wings clipped due to the fact that they pose a flight risk.
To report a crime or suspicious activity, police are urging animals to call 555-6969. As usual you can remain anonymous and translators are available for animals with speech impediments.
