NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE– The Stray Cats announced that they are putting out a new album for the first time in 56 cat years, and are also planning a worldwide tour for the summer.

The fabulous feline musical trio, consisting of Brian Short-hair, Flea Rocker, and Slim Jim Frisky, are bringing back their distinct rockabilly style just in time for the mischievous days of summer.

The new album will be available with pre-orders and the first one thousand animals will get a signed hairball from the band.

The exclusive disc will feature their usual affectionate sound, along with new songs “I’ve Got Catnip If You Want It” and “I Attract Fleas,” and ending the album with the paw-stomping track “Declaw Train.”

The Stray Cats last album was their Greatest Hits LP before disbanding for many years.

Singer-guitarist Brian Short-hair says the new album captures the same furry feeling from their self-titled LP from 1981, when the mature cats were almost kittens.

Staying true to their roots by calling themselves The Stray Cats, the three felines met each other while rummaging around a trashcan looking for food scraps in a back alley in New York.

“The first time I met Slim was when he tried grabbing a discarded pizza crust out of my mouth,” Brian laughed as the three longtime band mates and friends reminisced during a Rolling Stone interview.

“I started howling at him to get him away from my pizza and he immediately told me how I’d make a purrfect singer. And the rest as they say is history.”
