LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA– Over the last few decades, there has been a large influx of Siamese cats entering into the United States. Many of these cats originally integrated into areas that had very few Siamese residents, such as Chinatown in both Los Angeles and New York.
Every year the numbers of Siamese cats continues to grow, and with more smaller Siamese-only communities popping up, some experts predict that by 2032 they may eventually outnumber or at least rival Chinese cats in total.

LA’s new Siamtown is now home to approximately 1.5 million Siamese cats, with a small percentage of Persian, Bengal, Burmese, Japanese Bobtails, and other Oriental mixes living within the area as well.
The whole area spans over 3 miles, and is divided into various sections, including countless Siamese cat food restaurants and markets, numerous catnip bars, a Siamese-themed mall with movies, litter box restrooms, thousands of scratching posts, play areas for kittens, and many windows with perches for tired felines to take naps.

This large area of Siamtown grew quickly and has been expanding within the last 2 years and is sure to be a hot destination for animals of all kinds.
Siamtown’s growth is only expected to get bigger and the LA Times is calling Siamtown the “new friskier version of Chinatown.
