BERKELEY, CALIFORNIA–ย Even though the majority of humans are carnivore, a growing number of pet owners are switching their hairless friends to a plant-based diet.
According to a recent survey, an astounding 47 percent of human-owning cats and dogs stated that they would like to turn their meat-eating companions vegan.
Out of 5,269 cats and dogs surveyed, 843 of them were vegan and a large number of non-vegans also expressed interest in feeding their human pets a vegan diet.
Rex is a 9 year old Labrador Retriever and has been vegan for almost 3 years. He says that everyone that respects the environment must go plant-based.
“Anyone who cares about the earth needs to stop eating humans and other forms of meat,” said Rex as he scratched his 22 year old pet human’s head. “Meat stinks.”

Although many vegan pet owners expressed interest in feeding their humans a plant-based diet, some vegans said that the welfare of their pets comes first , even if that means feeding them meat.
